Congratulations to Kelly!  What a tremendous effort and a fantastic showing.  

Meanwhile, without spending a penny or making a phone call, I received 30% of the vote (122 out of 400) in Ward 19.  In addition, Eric Brown received 12% of the mayoral vote citywide, besting the three other minor party or independent candidates in New Haven.  Congratulations to Eric and his campaign manager Ralph Ferrucci!

Thanks to all who voted and supported my campaign, we managed to pull in a whopping 631 votes today. Alas, it was not enough to beat the Democrat, Willie, who pulled in 770 votes, but he did not win by much. And for a third-party candidate, with no major party backing, it is unheard of in our town.

To put it in perspective:
* We lost by a mere 139 votes.
* The Republican, Henry, only managed to pull 163 votes.
* We took 40.3% of the vote.
* The Dems managed 49.2% of the vote.
* We only lost by 8.9%.

So, while we may not have won, we did an incredible job and demonstrated to the town and the dominant political machine that WE WANT CHANGE. While I don't know what lies ahead, I do know that the movement we've started doesn't end here. I feel as though I have a few hundred new friends! Thank you for everything.
