The CT Dept. of Public Utility Control (DPUC) recently approved a rate hike 
of 7.7% for CL&P customers and 38% for UI customers.  This will give CT the 
highest electric rates in the continental US.

A committee is meeting in New Haven on January 10 to respond to this.

Join us to discuss immediate change, clean sustainable energy, a state
energy authority (with real community oversight), a moratorium on a rate
increase until the legislature has a chance to correct the misguided
policies of the past, no more nuclear or dirty plant boondoggles and a
municipal power authority in New Haven.
