On Thursday at 6:10 a.m., agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raided an apartment on Dorothy Street in Hartford . They arrested two men, Maximo and Martin Morales, and left their female cousin alone to care for three girls aged 3, 5 and 6.

Maximo and Martin are landscapers, not criminals. ICE knocked on their door at random. None of the ICE agents spoke Spanish, so their cousin did not understand who they were or what was happening. She doesn't know where they have taken Maximo or Martin.

How many more ICE raids occurred today? Only ICE knows for sure. One thing we know is that ICE raids are usually done in collaboration with the city in which they take place.

Join us for an EMERGENCY PROTEST on the Federal Building in Hartford tomorrow at 8 a.m. We will form a picket line on the sidewalk to call on the federal government to STOP THE RAIDS and REUNITE THE FAMILIES, and insist that the city and the state STOP COLLABORATING WITH IMMIGRATION AGENTS.
