Proposed agenda for the 7PM 12-29-09 SCC CTGP meeting at Portland Senior
Center

Location: Portland Senior Center, 7 Waverly Avenue, Portland, CT  06480

Facilitator:  To Be Determined

 

A.      Preliminaries:

1.       (1 minute): Introductions of voting/non-voting attendees; chapters;
if quorum was met; timekeeper; ground rules.

2.       (2-4 minutes): Approval of tonight's proposed agenda, any deletions
or additions.

3.       (2-4 minutes): Review and approval of minutes of 11-24-09 SCC
meeting.

4.     (2 minutes): Review and acceptance of the minutes of the 12-15-09 EC
meeting.

5.     (2-4 minutes): Treasurer's report from treasurer: Christopher Reilly.

 

B.     Any proposals/referendums by chapters, committee.

 

C. Reports:

1.  (10-15minutes): GPUS reports from: a) CTGP representatives: Tim McKee
and Charlie Pillsbury; b) National Committee Members.

 

2.  (20-30 minutes): Review of the potential Green Party Candidates who may
ran in the 11-10 election.

 

3.  (10-15minutes): Rae Johnson, a past Independent candidate for Middletown
mayor wishes to speak with the SCC. She is considering running 

as a Green Party candidate.  Her website is: 2009.webs.com 

 

4.  (2-5minutes): Bill Curry, Democrat, is likely to come to the 1-10 SCC
meeting.

 

5. (5 minutes): New chapter development in Meriden is being organized by Ben
Wojarn, Green Party member, former in the Greater Hartford chapter.

Meriden people are likely to have meetings in 12-09, 1-10 and 2-10.

 

6. (5 minutes): Ron Felder: potential volunteer for CT Green Party:
potential work with membership. (mobile 484-410-3298)

 

7. (5 minutes): CTGP Fundraising/budget Committee: regarding a fundraising
postcard or letter or calling for donations.

 

8.  (5-10 minutes): Discussion in support of single payer healthcare forum
at 6PM 1-4-10 at Otis Public Library, Norwich, CT

 

9. (2 minutes): CTgreens.org website;  CT Green Times News via
website/internet.

 

10.  (5-10 minutes): Civil disobedience sit-ins. 

 

11. (10 minutes): Carpools for the 10am 1-13-10 hearing in Manhattan, NY at
the U.S. 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals. The State of CT has appealed our
successful 

lawsuit against the State of Connecticut regarding the 2005 Campaign Finance
Reform law.  U.S. Judge Underhill on 8-28-09 handed down his decision that
the 

campaign finance laws were unconstitutional.  He found the laws violated
third party's (and other groups) constitutional rights under the 1st
Amendment 

(free speech) and 14th Amendment (equal protection under the law).

 

12. (2-5 minutes, each):  Chapter reports.

 

13. Next SCC meeting=Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Portland Senior
Center.  Date, place and time of next EC meeting: to be determined.
