[TDA_wg] vendors for remote dome cameras?

Howdy,

At lunch yesterday the question came up about cameras for remotely monitoring domes/enclosures of robotic facilities.  There was interest is relatively high-end cameras with features like panning and zooming, especially IR cameras that would be usable during active observing.  It appears that one vendor (don’t have the name) from a few years ago is no longer reachable and that Amazon or eBay is the only source.  The observatory would prefer a non-orphaned product, needless to say.

Any suggestions?  Either for vendors or clever workarounds?  Presumably several on this list operate robotic telescopes.  How do you ensure safety and provide for remote trouble shooting?
