We are hoping that everyone involved with running for office and most of their staff will participate.

Cliff,

Chris Nelson will be representing the New London Greens at the meeting tonight. Bob and I will be attending a screening of "Book 'Em: Undereducated, Overincarcerated. The School to Prison Pipeline" sponsored by FRESH and Youth Rights Media at NLHS.

Let me know what I can do to help with the campaign. #1 and #5 seem most appropriate, but I could also provide a list of NL County volunteers to help with the LWV documentation requirements for inclusion in the debates.

Cliff Thornton, the Green Party candidate for Governor, will host a
statewide campaign meeting Wednesday, August 16 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.
at the Russell Public Library in Middletown.

With the Green Party petition drive completed, the Thornton for
Governor campaign needs to focus on Nov. 7, 2006. Apart from winning the
governor's seat, Thornton for Governor has six basic goals, and will
  develop more in the future:

      1. Win the towns of New London and Windham.
      2. Earn a spot in the gubernatorial debates.
      3. Be placed in the Quinnipiac University polls.
      4. Build local Green Party chapters across the state.
      5. Recruit 2,000 volunteers to stand at the polls on Election Day,
  November 7, 2006.
      6. Raise $50,000.

Come to the meeting and learn how you can contribute your talents
and skills to helping to these goals, and the larger one of growing the
CT Green Party into a viable electoral alternative.
