Cliff Thornton, the Green Party candidate for Governor, will host a
statewide campaign meeting Wednesday, August 16 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Russell Public Library in Middletown.
With the Green Party petition drive completed, the Thornton for
Governor campaign needs to focus on Nov. 7, 2006. Apart from winning the governor's seat, Thornton for Governor has six basic goals, and will
develop more in the future:
1. Win the towns of New London and Windham.
2. Earn a spot in the gubernatorial debates.
3. Be placed in the Quinnipiac University polls.
4. Build local Green Party chapters across the state.
5. Recruit 2,000 volunteers to stand at the polls on Election Day,
November 7, 2006.
6. Raise $50,000.
Come to the meeting and learn how you can contribute your talents
and skills to helping to these goals, and the larger one of growing the
CT Green Party into a viable electoral alternative.
