                                Please read the message below from Marela Zacarias. There are buses leaving from the Hartford area to the immigrant rights rally in Danbury to protest the city council there from approving the 287-G agreement that would deputize local police as immigration enforcement agents.

                                Hello everyone,

                                This has been a very exciting and scary month in the
                                immigrant rights movement. As many of you already know
                                the mayor of Danbury wants to pass a 287 G bill that
                                would deputize the police and create a worse
                                environment of fear and racial profiling than the one
                                that already exists. The plan is for the Danbury Common Council to vote this bill Wednesday, Feb 6th.

                                Two weeks ago there was a meeting in Danbury of more
                                than 1000 Brazilian immigrants that are ready to fight
                                against this bill. The meeting was one of the most
                                inspiring events i have ever been to. In the meeting
                                it was decided to have a huge demonstration outside of
                                Danbury's City Hall and a boycott . Many Latino and Brazilian businesses will
                                close the doors of their business on that day.

                                The immigrants of Danbury need our support. As
                                activists in the immigrant rights struggle we need to
                                show our solidarity. Remember that if this law is
                                passed in Danbury it will come to other parts of the
                                state- just like the raids. We need to stop it NOW.

                                There will be two buses leaving from Trinfo Cafe
                                (corner of Broad and Vernong in Hartford CT.) at 4:40pm 
                                on Wedensday Feb 6th. The bus is FREE for everyone. If
