Dear Voter,First thank you for your vote.We will be seeking to verify how
many write in votes we got across the state, but you might check with the
local board of elections to find out if you vote did count by asking for
a final offical count at your town hall. Please stay tuned, This is not
the last word of the issue, by any means. Tim McKee

  Dear Mr. Mckee,

I just finished reading the press release regarding the size of the
write in space on the ballots for yesterday's election and wanted to
  comment and ask a question.

I vote in Broad Brook, CT and went to the polls at 8:00 AM after
verifying that the write in option was available. Upon receiving my
ballot, I instantly noticed how small the space was, especially with
regard to the necessary writing utensil. I inquired about the size
and if my vote would count if I was unable to write small enough, but
the clerk had no idea what to tell me. She told me to go ahead and if
there was a problem, I could come back and get a new one. I carefully
wrote Mckinney/Clemente as neat and tiny as possible and placed my
ballot in the scanner. At that time it did not kick out, but I am
wondering if there was still a possibility that it did not count. My
husband did the same later in the day and had a much more difficult
time writing small enough-so legibility was an issue too.

While I know that our two votes will not change today's results, I
still would like to know that my right to choose my candidate was
validated. Also, if there is anything we can do to support the issue
for future change to the ballot, I am eager to help.

Thank you for your time and concern for such an important issue.

  Sincerely,

  Amanda Bates
  Broad Brook, CT
