REPUBLIC WINDOWS & DOORS VICTORY TOUR!
                                Monday, February 2

In December, 260 workers at Chicago's Republic Windows & Doors factory occupied their plant for six days, a sit-in strike launched in response to the closing of their plant with only 3 days notice. Jobs with Justice coalitions along with other community, faith and labor activists from across the country
mobilized in support of these courageous members of UE Local 1110, helping them win a settlement from Bank of America and Republic owners including severance pay and compensation for unpaid earnings.

As the economic crisis deepens, millions of workers face job losses, foreclosures on their homes, and other economic hardships. Join Jobs with Justice and other groups in celebrating the successful resistance at Republic and launch the broader campaign for an economic recovery that puts Main
                                Street before Wall Street.

For more information or to add your organization as an endorser contact UE Organizer, Ashaki Binta, (cell) 203-379-7711 abinta at jflm.org

Community meeting for a People's Bail Out Saturday, February 7 from 1 pm - 4 pm Hartford City Hall, 550 Main St.

No Cutbacks - No Lay offs - No Foreclosures - No Evictions Make the Wealthy and the Corporations Pay

Wall Street Got One TRILLION Dollars of Our Tax Money When do WE get bailed out?

That's the question that people everywhere are asking. In the Hartford area, the recession means that the real unemployment rate of 12% could double in 2009, while thousands of people lose their homes and the state slashes social services, education and health care.

The federal government spent a cool trillion dollars bailing out the big corporations. Now Governor Rell plans to slash jobs and social programs instead of making the wealthy pay their fair share. Who's looking out for OUR interests? Come to a community meeting, speak-out and strategy session to talk about what we can do to fight for our survival.
