Getting insurers to rid themselves of investments in fossil fuels,
creating products to deal with*climate change*and helping the world
better understand risk, were among the topics on Wednesday at a summit
on the insurance industry and*climate change*. California Insurance
Commissioner Dave Jones earlier this year asked all insurance companies
doing business in California to voluntarily divest from their
investments in thermal coal. That followed a move by Henri de Castries,
chairman and CEO of French insurer AXA, who announced in May 2015 that
the company was ridding itself of investments in companies most exposed
to coal-related activities....
Kreidler lately has expressed concern that insurers could have assets
stranded if fossil fuel investments suddenly plummet, a scenario that
might be pushed in part by the agreement between 200 hundred countries
in Paris last year, the United Nations Climate Change Conference.

The Congressional Budget Office is warning lawmakers about the fiscal
risks of climate change, putting the studiously non-partisan agency at
odds with Republican Party orthodoxy. The report, released as hurricane
season begins, warns that hurricane damage will “increase significantly
in the coming decades” due to*climate change*. The agency added that
humans are playing a role in fueling rising temperatures and a
shifting*climate*.

(opinion) The simple fact is, these storms are directly connected to
global climate change...And the mainstream media in this country is
committing malpractice with their coverage of these events... And as a
result, the planet's atmosphere can hold more moisture than it could
have in the absence of human-caused*global warming*. ... And water vapor
acts just like any other*greenhouse gas*in the atmosphere: It reflects
light and heat back in all*...*
