[YARDStick] YS1 Not Recognized

As an update, I ordered another YS1 and still have no response from the device.  I placed it in boot loader mode and the three LEDs came on and it was recognized as a USB device.  Unfortunately I am not able to update the firmware as I am continually receiving errors - most commonly an SDCC version error (the code appears to only be able to use a version up to 3.5.0.  Anyway, if anyone has a known solution to this I would greatly appreciate it.  Otherwise I will return these as it appears that they are being shipped without the firmware.
