Indeed!  The astronomical time domain is vast, see the proceedings from the 2011 IAU Symposium "New Horizon's in Time Domain Astronomy":

This is Hotwired week, however, so naturally that was the context.  There was no intent to limit the range of topics appropriate for this mailing list or the working group.  A lot of cross-fertilization is visible.  In addition to several common speakers, the sonification of Diaz-Merced even made an appearance in one of the talks yesterday :-)
